July’s Meeting – A look behind the bathroom door

Hello!

The important bit first: Are you self isolating or quarantining? Do you need any assistance? Don’t forget to let us know because we can put you in touch with other West Ealing WI members in your area and see if anyone is able to help.

June’s Main Meeting – Behind the Bathroom Door!
Tonight we’ll be joined by Liza Jones who will give a talk on hygiene through the ages and up to current times, along with what we use and do to keep ourselves clean. Liza comes highly recommended and has given more than 100 talks on different topics, donating her speaking fees to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Check your inbox for the link to tonight’s meeting on Zoom, or drop us an email so we can send you the details.

Donations
If you do participate this evening we’d like to encourage you to make a donation to the Ealing Baby Bank, our charity for 2020. We appreciate this may not be possible for some of you, as you may be working less and caring for more people, but we also know this isn’t the case for everyone and this is a good opportunity to help a deserving organisation in a very difficult time. While all WI meetings are paid for out of your subscription, and we certainly don’t expect any more money for the meeting activity itself, we would normally hold the raffle where we raise money for the Baby Bank. If you’d like to chuck us a pound or two to cover your usual raffle ticket purchase we’d greatly appreciate it. You can find our bank details in our latest email.

No donation is too small and anything would be greatly appreciated and go towards making a real difference to the lives of some very vulnerable families. Thank you so much to everything that’s been donated so far.

Change to membership year
To to the pandemic, we have been advised that everyone’s membership will now expire in March 2021, instead of December 2020. This means that subs will next be due in March/April 2021, rather than November/December 2020. This will be the norm from next year onwards which will hopefully ease a bit of the financial pressure that many people feel over the Christmas period.

WI Raffle
Before the pandemic we were selling tickets for the WI annual raffle and we still have some tickets left. We don’t need to send them in for the draw until September so there’s still some time to buy a ticket or three. Tickets are £1 and first prize is £10,000! If you would like to buy tickets, please transfer the appropriate money to our bank account (details above) using your name and ‘raffle’ as the reference. Then please send an email to westealingwi@gmail.com to let us know you’ve done it. We’ll fill out the ticket stub and send it off for you, keeping the tickets safe until we can see you again.
