Round-up from our AGM on 26th September

Denise as President presented a ‘2022-23 WEWI year in review’, reminding us of the variety of activities we’ve been up to over the last 12 months. There was a wonderful Year in review photo slideshow showing the talks, trips and sub-groups members have enjoyed. Our Treasurer Stephanie made finances fun, with an animated display of how our subs have been spent. We are continuing with The Store Cupboard as our charity of the year – those at the AGM were able to see a video giving an insight into their work.

The formal business was quickly dealt with, thanks to our advisor from the Middlesex Federation, leaving time for a quiz. Well done to ‘The Fab 5’ who won with 45 points!

Hi! I live locally and would be interested in coming along as a visitor and then possibly joining. Is this still possible? Thanks so much!

    • westealingwi says:

Hi Anjali, yes it is definitely possible for you to come along. Our next meeting is on Tuesday 26th November at 7.30pm. We will be doing some Christmas crafting and that can be great if you are new to us, as we will be sitting in small groups so it’s easier to get to know people. You can come along as a guest for £5.00 that day, then join properly at the January meeting for the full year ahead. We don’t have a meeting in December as it would fall around Christmas Day.

If you have any other questions, do email us on westealingwi@gmail.com (it’s easier than replying through the website). Hope to see you on the 26th at Northfields Community Centre, Northcroft Road, Northfields.

It is okay to just turn up and we’d be delighted to have you along – see you then! We’ll have a stall at Hanwell Carnival on the 16th June so if you were planning to go along you can also come and say hi then.

Hi Sue, It’s great to hear that you would like to become a member. Please just come along to our next meeting on the 23rd January and we can enrol you as a member then. The amount to bring is £41 cash or cheque. See you then!

Dear West Ealing WI, My name is Bridget Morris and I work for Volunteer Link which is a charity that arranges for volunteer befrienders to visit isolated and lonely older people within the borough of Ealing. I know that WI currently have a campaign on Alleviating Loneliness, see https://www.thewi.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/183733/Alleviating-loneliness-Briefing.pdf
and as our charity is proactive in this area in Ealing I wondered if I could attend one of your meetings to talk about our work with a view to informing you about our service and possibly recruiting some volunteers? Please let me know, and thank you, in advance, for considering our request.

    Best wishes.

I’m a member of the Ruislip Women’s WI, but like the look of your WI. If I join, will I have to pay subscription again?

Hi, I’ve been having a look at your website and would love to come as a visitor to one of your meetings. I have been looking for a younger WI, who meet in the evenings. I also like the look of your craft group. I live in Chiswick and I have a friend, Katherine who lives in Shepherds Bush. Would it be ok to come to your next meeting on 22nd October?

  13. Elaine Taylor says:

Hi Can you let me know more about the October meeting? Do we need to come dressed to do some self-defence or is it a talk/demo?
    Cheers
    Elaine
